Atletico Mineiro working Hard to go ahead in Hotel

Atletico Mineiro have slowly been working their way up the table in recent weeks following some impressive performances.

However, the team are paying the price for a very poor form shown during the months of June. Even though players like Robinho were at the top of their form, the club was unable to take advantage. After having played 13 games in the league, Atletico Mineiro are a distant ninth in the table. However, recent form gives them a lot of hope that they can make their way up the table. The club, though, do not seem to be resting on their laurels and are keen on strengthening the squad.

One of the areas where they seem to have identified weakness is in the left back position if rumours are to be believed. This is after Peru international full-back Miguel Trauco was reportedly being targeted by the Brazilian outfit, according to the player’s agent. Rumours about Peruvian players linked with a move abroad are not rare, but there seems to be some truth in those rumours if the statements of the agent – Jose Chacon – is taken into account. After having appeared in nine league matches, Robinho has scored four league goals and has been considered as a decent signing for the club.

“We have made a proposal to the club and they are analysing it,” said the agent ofMiguel Trauco. Meanwhile, the club only recently brought in former Brazil international striker Fred as part of the squad. He has moved in from Fluminense.”Fred will be at Independencia (Stadium) on Sunday! He’s a Galo (Rooster),” said the president ofAtletico Mineiro,Daniel Nepomuceno. The former Lyon striker has been playing in Brazilian football since 2009. He brings a wealth of experience to theAtletico Mineiro, who have to continue their recent form of four straight wins.
