Robinho has shocked football fans in Brazil

Robinho has shocked football fans in Brazil after recently sealing a move back to the Brazilian league with AtleticMinero.

In a recent meeting between AtleticMinero and Santos, who are the former club of Robinho, the striker was left out of the squad by manager Diego Aguirre. Aguirre later claimed that the decision was taken in order to give the player some rest after only recently returning to the Brazilian league. However, it is widely seen as a move to pacify supporters of the Santos section, who are infuriated by Robinho deciding to join one of their rivals.

After coming through the ranks at Santos, Robinho has been a fan favourite even though he left the club by causing a huge furore. It was widely seen as a way to engineer the move to Real Madrid – one of the biggest clubs in the world. Since he left Santos, however, Robinho has failed to consistently shine at any one club for a long period of time. He has played for the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, and AC Milan. After finding unhappiness at each of his previous clubs, he has returned to Santos. Even then, he could not stay at his boyhood club for the long and he left for the Chinese league in order to link up with Luiz Felipe Scolari once again.

Robinho was in the stadium when AtleticMinero played against Santos. After the former secured a 1-0 win, Robinho reportedly went to the away dressing room to see and console his former teammates.Santos striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa, though, did not find any fault in the actions. “It’s a part. Football is this. We wanted him on our side! But it was very good to see him,” said Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa in response to Robinho visiting the Santos dressing room.
