Robinho may not return to European football

Former Manchester City and Real Madrid striker Robinho says that there is no possibility of a return to European football, especially with AC Milan.

The forward once had aspirations of becoming the best player in the world, but his career has not exactly gone in the same direction. After spending only a couple of years at the likes of City and Milan, he returned to Brazilian football with the club where he started his career – Santos. He is on loan from Milan, but with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, he is almost certain to stay here.

Milan recently brought him Fernando Torres from Chelsea on a two-year loan spell, but the Spaniard has not exactly set the goal charts on fire. He has managed just one goal in the Italian Serie A so far. Hence, it is put tremendous amount of pressure on striker Stephan El Shaarawy. The youngster continues to remain a great talent, but he is still an unpolished diamond. Robinho has expressed his wish to extend his stay at the club, but he is aware that Milan hold the key towards the future since he still remains under contract with the Italian club.

“My desire is to stay here for a long time. I hope to stay here for many more years, because I want to continue to bring joy to the fans. I hope I get my wish, but I don’t know how it will end. Milan hold my contract, so it’s not entirely up to me, but I’ll do everything I can to stay here,” said the striker. “We agree with Robinho: he wants to stay here and we want the same thing. He has a great relationship with the fans and we are ready to discuss his contract with Milan,” said Santos president Odilio Rodrigues.
